Details on the Sept 19-21 Parish Mission

Day 1 – Who are the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus?
We kick-off our mission with Fr Jorge Ochoa as our keynote speaker. He is currently working in Covina, CA close to the border of U.S. and Mexico. Fr Jorge was born in the U.S. but spent most of his childhood growing up in Mexico. He just returned from taking a group of youth to Portugal for World Youth Day and he’s got amazing stories to share of his missionary assignments in many different countries.

Day 2 – What is the Comboni spirituality and charism?

This night will be unique in that our keynote speaker will be Fr Ruffino Ezama, the provincial superior of the North American Comboni province, and Fr Dawit Teklewold. They will share with us the Comboni spirituality and how it is manifested and lived in the religious order as well as how this informs their missionary commitment in this world. We will also have a panel interview with other visiting religious priests and a Comboni lay person, to share how they live this spirit and charism. Hospitality to follow on this evening.

Day 3 – An Interview with Fr. Jean-Philippe: What does the future look like for St John XXIII Parish?

This evening is not to be missed. For those who still feel like they don’t know Fr Jean Philippe well, here’s your chance to get up-close and personal! We will be interviewing him about his life, and also ask questions about his vision for St John XXIII parish. He will also share with us how you can be involved as we develop a pastoral plan for this next year.
