Confirmation means affirming or consolidating. By this sacrament, the baptized strengthen their faith and achieve a deeper divine affiliation with God, and unite more intimately with the Church. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are strengthened and made us more capable of being witnesses of Jesus Christ, in word and deed so we can lead a more perfect and active Christian life.
Two consecutive years of preparation are required to receive the sacrament. To review the process to Confirmation for children, visit our Religious Education page; for the adult process, please visit the Becoming Catholic page. In 2023, the celebration of Confirmation will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 in St. Nicholas Church. |
