The Art & Environment Committee uses textiles and flowers appropriate to each liturgical season to enhance the spaces in which we pray, creating an environment that deepens the spiritual experiences of those who gather in them.
The time required of volunteers varies according to the liturgical season. The most help is needed in the period from All Saints Day to the beginning of Advent (called “Novembering” at St. Nicholas), the Christmas season, and the Easter season. The committee may also have occasional meetings. If you have a good eye and like to work with flowers (or are willing to learn), we’d welcome your assistance and your ideas. To volunteer, please contact one of our coordinators. St. Mary Coordinator Dianne Fox, Co-director of Music Ministry dfox@archchicago.org.
