Youth in grades four through high school are invited to be part of the ministry of serving at the Table of the Lord. They are called upon to

  • Assist with the book of prayers when the presider needs to read from it
  • Help to set the altar with the bread and wine
  • Carry the candles in processions

Altar servers come from our parish youth ministry, the Religious Education Program, and Pope John XXIII school.

Youth must have received their First Communion and have a willingness to serve. They’re required to handle liturgical objects with reverence, be attentive to the details of the liturgy, and arrive early at the liturgies at which they’re scheduled. Training and liturgical formation are provided.
