Parish Giving

Why Do We Give?

We believe “in God, the Maker of heaven and earth” who is the source of our life, talents, and all that we have been given.  Out of gratitude for these gifts, we are called to share and give back to our families, our parish family, and our community.

Each day, we are blessed by those who give their time and talents as liturgical ministers, catechists, ministers of care, event organizers, council members, or as one of the countless volunteers who make our parish run.

Our financial gifts, no matter the amount, pay the salaries and benefits of our dedicated parish staff, maintain our two church campuses, and support the many ministries that inspire and comfort us.  Our gifts to the Sunday Offertory are the financial lifeblood of our parish.  Thank you for your generosity!

Sunday Offertory Intention

We invite all parishioners to share how they intend to support the Sunday Offertory with us.  When you do so, you help us anticipate parish income and then how to use your gifts wisely.

Your Intention is not a formal pledge or contract.  You will not receive a bill.  It is a simple expression of your intention to support our Sunday Offertory.  All gifts, regardless of size, are gratefully received and treasured.

Sunday Offertory Intention cards are available in the church or can be completed below. Thank you!

How to Give

Electronic Giving via Pushpay
An easy and convenient way to support the Sunday Offertory is to make electronic payments through Pushpay.  With Pushpay you can set up recurring or one-time payments for the Sunday Offertory and other organizations supported through second collections at mass.
  • Already have a Pushpay account? - Click below to update your contribution amounts, payment method, or other account information.
  • Want to set up a Pushpay account? - When you click below, you will be asked to make your first payment for any purpose.  You will then be prompted to provide your contact and payment method information.
  • Payment Methods
    • eCheck – A direct debit to a checking or savings account.  There is no processing fee.
    • Credit and Debit Cards - The parish incurs a 2.2% processing fee when you use a debit or credit card.  You can help our parish cover this cost by selecting the option to increase your donation by the amount of the processing fee.  Thank you!

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals age 70½ or older to authorize their IRA administrator to make a direct transfer of funds from their IRA to qualified charities, tax-free. If you would like more information on how to make a QCD gift to St. John XXIII, please contact Deacon Greg Vogt, Philanthropy Officer, Archdiocese of Chicago at 312.995.0686 or [email protected]. Deacon Vogt will be sure that your gift makes its way to St. John XXIII. You can also contact Art Roggow, Operations Director, at [email protected],  847.864.1185 x224.

FAQs

How do I create a Pushpay Account if I do not have a mobile phone/number?
If you do not have a mobile phone, please note that you can use a landline number. For more instructions on this, see here.
Why did my payment fail / get declined?
There are various reasons why your payment may have been declined. Some of the most common are: insufficient funds, invalid/wrong account or card number, an expired card, or a generic bank decline (i.e. your bank has declined the transaction request).

If your payment was declined, we encourage you to get in touch with your bank as a first step to resolution.
How do I get a refund/change my recently given gift?
Please contact Art Roggow, Operations Director, at [email protected],  847.864.1185 x224.
Are there any fees when I give? If so, how can I cover the fees for our parish?
There are no processing fees for payment made using the eCheck option (ACH from a US bank account).  However, St. John XXIII Parish does incur a 2.2% processing fee when you use your debit or credit card.  If you wish to cover that cost for the parish, please click "Add 2.2% to contribute to processing costs*" when setting up your payment.  Thank you in advance for assisting our parish in reducing online payment fees.
How does Pushpay keep my information secure?
Pushpay has been built with security at its core. Our primary concern is ensuring all data is kept safe and our systems remain robust, reliable, and usable.

To learn more about Pushpay's security, privacy, and fraud prevention features please visit this link.
