Our yearly parish fundraiser in honor of one of our patron saints, St. Nicholas!​

Come join us on the St. Nicholas Campus (806 Ridge Ave, Evanston) for the very best Christmas trees, highest quality greenery, delicious Mexican food, and the most unique crafts available -- St. Nicholas approved! To start things off on Friday night, join "Bishop Nicholas" to hear stories about his many miracles and good works before he leads us outside to light the St. Nick's Fest Christmas tree. Come back Saturday and Sunday for the craft fair, tree and greenery sale, raffle, and some fantastic homemade food! And as the weekend winds down, join us over at St. Mary Church (1012 Lake St) for our St. John XXIII Parish Lessons & Carols, a peaceful hour of reflection that blends scripture and song to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord.

Visit from "Bishop Nicholas" & Tree Lighting

Friday, December 6:​  6:30 p.m.
Join us Friday evening inside St. Nicholas Church. Bishop St. Nicholas will tell stories, sing, and pray with us as we celebrate one of our patron Saints, then lead us outside to light the parish Christmas tree on Ridge Ave. This event is beloved by all parishioners, big and small!

Tree & Greenery Sale

Saturday, December 7:  8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, December 8:  9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Our wide selection of premium trees and greenery are among the finest grown in North America. Each tree comes with a guarantee of complete customer satisfaction.

Missed the pre-order window for Christmas trees or greenery? We'll accept walk-up orders at the Fest for as long as supplies last!

Craft Fair

Saturday, December 7:  8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, December 8:  9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
​The St. Nick's Fest Craft Fair features over 60 crafters displaying original gift items for holiday shoppers: jewelry and pottery, note cards, tree ornaments, photography, knitwear, ​wood-turned bowls and pens, and much more. Make sure to visit all the crafting booths in both Oldershaw Hall and the school cafeteria!

Raffle

This is your chance to win big!
Volunteers will be selling tickets after Mass each weekend leading up to the event, or you can purchase tickets while you're exploring the Fest! The drawing will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria on Sunday, December 8.

Bakery Booth

​Come by our famous bakery booth in the school cafeteria where you'll find the finest holiday treats, all prepared by the parishioners of St. John XXIII! We'll have cookies, cakes, breads, candies, and more. Serve them at your holiday parties, bring a gift to a friend, or unwrap them and eat at the Fest.

Calling All St. John XXIII Bakers! 
    
It's time to get out your favorite holiday recipes and help us offer the best homemade baked goods around at this year's St. Nick's Fest.  Best sellers are cookies (especially decorated ones), brownies, sweet breads (small size), jams, jellies, and candies.  Gluten-free items are especially welcome.  
Items can be dropped off in the Pope John XXIII school cafeteria on Friday, December 6, from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday, December 7, from 7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Please package your items for sale (disposable plates, plastic wrap, etc.) and label them, including ingredients - especially nuts and dairy.


Lessons & Carols

Sunday, December 8: 5 p.m.
​Conclude your St. Nick's weekend festivities with the St. John XXIII Parish Lessons & Carols at 5 p.m. at St. Mary Church (1012 Lake St, Evanston, IL 60201). This cherished annual event has been celebrated at St. Mary for over 25 years and offers an hour of peaceful reflection, blending scripture and song to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord.
